Abstract

Public Relations Office of Local Government Secretariat of Tegal is Government owned institution having authority and responsibility to give service to encourage good and clean governance. In this case Public Relations Setda Tegal municipal government has an obligation in disseminating information development and governance to the public. One of the media spreaders of information used by Public Relations is Wartabahari Website. This websit e contains about various news development and administration of Tegal City government. But in reality there are still many people of Tegal City who still not knowing the existence of Wartabahari Website. It can be known from the researcher's observation by doing research to know people who know and don’t know about Wartabahari Website. This study aims to find out the Socialization Strategy Wartabahari PR Website Setda Government of Tegal City in disseminating to the community about the development and implementation of government. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection tools and techniques used are interview guides and indepth interviews with the speakers of the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of Regional Secretariat of Tegal, Head of News Sub-Section, Coverage Staff, and respondents who know or do not know about Wartabahari Website. The result of the research shows that public relations socialization strategy conducted by public relations firm of tegal government has never been done by public relation party such as company strategic plan in determining the strategic outline of strategic action to be taken in the long time to come. In this case Public Relations use Wartabahari Website as a medium of information provided to the public. But the absence of visitor applications installed on the website, one-way website, the absence of suggestion boxes and phorums, and news sections that are still incorporated to make the socialization strategy Wartabahari Website hasn’t been achieved. Improvement on Wartabahari Website and the determination of a good socialization strategy is needed to be the material of evaluation and monitoring of success or failure of socialization strategy conducted by PR Setda Pemkot Tegal.
