Abstract

KONTAK magazine is the corporate internal media of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) that has function to spread information about company to its employees. In the publication of this internal media, some employees of PT PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 4 Semarang are not interested in reading KONTAK magazine. Therefore, it is necessary to know the perception of employees of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 4 Semarang about the quality of the KONTAK magazine as corporate internal media. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method with data collection tools in the form of questionnaire. The technique used in this research is nonprobability sampling with selected samples using convenience sampling. This research measured by two indicators, they are employee’s perception about the design of internal media and employess’s perception about the content of internal media. Based on the results of this research, show that the design of internal media is perceived well by the employees of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 4 Semarang, which means the design of internal media has attractive and legibility value. While, the employee’s perception about the information content of the KONTAK magazine as corporate internal media considered well enough by the employees of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 4 Semarang as the reader of internal media. Which means, the publication of the KONTAK magazine is worth to spread the informative, educative, and entertaining information to the employees. Based on the conclusion of the research, although the KONTAK magazine has a good design and good content for the employees to red, but in fact the employees have less interest to read the KONTAK magazine.
