Abstract
One of the energy that can be processed into fuel is plant papaya seeds. Seeds of papaya ( Carica papaya L. ) is a vegetable oil that has great potential to be used as raw material for biodiesel . This is because the papaya seed oil contains 72%-78 % oleat acid, 12%-14% palmitic acid, 4%-5% stearate acid ,and 2,5%-3,5% acid linoleate. Extraction proccess of papaya seed’s oil using a hydraulic press with pre-treatment consists of the sorting process and heating proccess with variable of preheating temperature are 40oC, 50oC,60o C and the variable of pressure are 150 kg / cm2, 175 kg / cm2, 200 kg / cm2. Based on observations in on a heating temperature of 60⁰C with a pressure of 200 kg / cm2 obtained the highest oil yield percentage is on by 15,50 % with a content of 1,92% moisture content, density obtained for 0,641gr / ml, viscosity obtained by the 27.664 Cp, And has a sour figure of 15,15 mgKOH / g and a saponification number of 156,82 mgKOH/g. Keywords: Papaya’s Seeds, Papaya’s Oil, Hydraulic Press, Temperature, Pressure.
