KUALITAS SISTEM INFORMASI AKADEMIK BERBASIS WEB (SIMAWEB) DI FAKULTAS ILMU SOSIAL DAN ILMU POLITIK UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO SEMARANG

Abstract

Academic Information System is very important in supporting the activities of lectures in an educational institution, not least in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP). In FISIP UNDIP, already has an Academic Information System based on WEB or commonly referred to as SIMAWEB. SIMAWEB is used by students to fill and print KRS, print KPU, see lecturers schedule etc. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. While the data source obtained through the primary data is data obtained directly from the source of research data. Technique of collecting data from this research is by interview technique. As for the selection of informants, using purposive techniques continued with snowball. In determining the quality of SIMAWEB the indicator is accurate, timely and relevant. Based on the results of the study, it is stated that the quality of SIMAWEB still needs to be improved because SIMAWEB only meets the criteria of relevance, besides there are barriers in the use of SIMAWEB that is the lack of user knowledge so that its usage is not maximal, SIMAWEB technician which still not qualified either quality and quantity, limited fund allocation whereas the user's needs have not been fully met. Of all the shortcomings and obstacles that occur, the solution can be taken is the recruitment of technicians SIMAWEB both in terms of quality and quantity, improving the management of SIMAWEB, need to be integrated information system containing academic libraries and student affairs, created guidebooks and applications in android so it can be accessed more easy.
