Abstract
Soybean (Glycine Max) is a leguminous plant that forms the basis of many food East Java such as soy sauce, tofu and tempeh. Soybean is a major source of vegetable protein and vegetable oil, with oil content of about 20%. Soybean oil extraction process can be done in two ways, among others, the pressing and solvents. Two common ways is by mechanical pressing methods include hydraulic presses (hydraulic pressing) and pressing threaded (hydraulic pressing). How hydraulic pressing need pre-treatment consists of the heating process in order to minimize the moisture content of the material. In this research study about the initial heating temperature and pressure pressing against the acquisition of soybean oil with hydraulic pressing method (hydraulic pressing). Soybeans soaked for several hours and removed the husk, then heated to 100oC and 120oC temperature variable, then dried soybeans that have been done pressing with variable pressure 1800 psi and 2000 psi. The results of this study obtained the largest percentage of oil extraction in the variation preheating temperature of 120 oC denagn pressing pressure 2000 psi that is equal to 10.11%.. Keywords : Soybean, Hydraulic pressing, Soybean Oil.
