Abstract
Background: Indonesia is one of the countries that still use plants for medication purposes. This is supported by the fact that Indonesia has 30.000 plants and 7.000 among them are medicinal plants. Product X is one of the examples of jamu which is developed from a medicinal plant that acts as an anti-inflammation. Inflammation is one of protective responses of the body towards foreign substances that create lesion. The aim : of this study is to find out the effect of product X extract as an antiinflammation in galur wistar male rats. Methods: This study was an experimental study with randomized control pre-post test design. Samples were taken from 24 rats which fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and were later divided into control and experimental groups. all groups received karagenan subplantar injection. Rats in comparator control group were intervened by Na Diclofenac, and rats in experimental group were intervened by product X given orally after made to be oedem. The results were later analyzed using Oneway Anova, Kruskal-waliis and Mann Whitney. Results of the study: Results analyzed with Paired t-Test and Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between positive control group, comparator control group, and experimental group. Using Mann-Whitney test, there was a meaningful difference between positive control group, comparator control group, and experimental group. Conclusion: Product X could suppress inflammation that occurred in male wistar rats. Key Words: Inflammation, product X, karagenan, Na Diclofenac
