HUBUNGAN KEJADIAN EFUSI PLEURA PADA PASIEN GAGAL JANTUNG KONGESTIF BERDASARKAN FOT THORAKS DI RSUP DR KARIADI TAHUN 2015

Abstract

Background : Congestive heart failure is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The risk of congestive heart failure is also increasing all the time, and also with increasing age. However, pleural effusion is a condition that is fairly common. In Indonesia, the incidence of pleural effusion is mostly caused by various type of infections. So far, there has been no research examining the correlation between the incidence of pleural effusion with congestive heart failure, therefore it is necessary for researcher to conduct this research. Aim: Determine the correlation between the incidence of pleural effusion by chest x-ray in patients with congestive heart failure at RSUP Dr. Kariadi in January –December 2015. Methods: The design of this research is descriptive analytic research using cross sectional design. The collected data is secondary data such as patient medical record at RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang in January – December 2015. Then the data obtained were edited, coded, tabulated, and entered into a computer and then calculated the frequency which will be displayed in the table. Results: Chi-square test result showed a significant association between congestive heart failure by chest x-ray with the incidence of pleural effusion (p < 0,05). Conclusions: Based on the result of this research concluded that there is a correlation between congestive heart failure by chest x-ray with the incidence of pleural effusion.
