Abstract

Ketergantungan masyarakat akan kebutuhan bahan bakar khususnya bensin turut mempengaruhi berkurangnya ketersediaan bahan bakar bensin di pasaran. Dengan adanya bahan bakar alternatif LPG, masyarakat akan lebih memilih menggunakan bahan bakar LPG dibandingkan dengan bensin,karena LPG memiliki nilai kalori lebih besar dibandingkan dengan bensin yaitu sebesar 11220 kkal/Kg. Tujuan Pembuatan proyek akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui performa genset dengan menggunakan bahan bakar LPG, mengetahui BSFC (Break Spesifik Fuel Consumtion), membandingkan konsumsi bahan bakar bensin dengan gas, dan mengetahui efisiensi yang dihasilkan. Metode modifikasi pada mesin genset 1100 watt berbahan bakar bensin menjadi gas yaitu dengan cara mengganti komponen pada sistem bahan bakar mesin dengan konverter kit. Hasil pengujian Pada mesin genset 1100W, BSFC bahan bakar bensin sebesar 3,487 (Kg/kW.h), efisiensi thermal efektif 35,70% dengan beban maksimal 870W dan tegangan diatas 200V, sementara BSFC bahan bakar gas sebesar 1,190 (Kg/kW.h), efisiensi thermal efektif 42,78% dengan beban maksimal 380W dan tegangan diatas 200V. Genset bahan bakar gas lebih hemat dan efisien, namun dalam pembangkit dayanya genset dengan bahan bakar bensin lebih baik dibandingkan bahan bakar gas. With the existence of alternative fuels LPG society would prefer to use LPG fuel compared to gasoline, which has a calorific value greater than the gasoline that is equal to 11220 kcal / kg. The results test On the machine 1100W generator, gasoline BSFC of 3.487 (Kg / kW.h), the effective thermal efficiency of 35.70% with a maximum load of 870W and voltage above 200V, while the gaseous fuel BSFC of 1.190 (Kg / kW.h), effective thermal efficiency of 42.78% with a maximum load of 380W and voltage above 200V. Genset gas fuel is more economical and efficient, but in the power plant generator with gasoline fuel is better than the fuel gas.
