Abstract

Background : Various factor such as age, gender, residence status, level of education, psychosocial stressor and psychal illness can affected depression. Health center as primary care facilities should be the firt line for public to get a comprehensive health service, in terms of physical and mental health. Methods : This study is a descriptive analityc study with cross sectional design, with 59 outpatient of health centers as subject. Data was collected through interviews using BDI-II questionnaire, demographic data and medical records. Data presented in table and analyzed using Chi-square, Kolomogorov-smirnov and Fisher’s Exact test. The results of analysis revealed significant if p<0,05. Results : Of the 59 outpatient health centers of Halmahera Semarang interviewed with BDI II questionnaires, description of levels of depression was 52.5 % obtained in the normal range , 22.0 % mild depression , 18.6 % moderate depression, 6.8 % severe depression. Test connections made between demographic factors and depression with physical illness is not meaningful, because p > 0.05 . Meanwhile , test the relationship of depression with psychosocial stressors are significant with p = 0.007. Conclusion : The level of depression : normal 52.5 % , 22.0 % mild , 18.6 % moderate, 6.8 % severe. There is a association between depression and psychosocial stressors. There is no association between depression and physical illness demographic factor . Key words : Depression, Health Centers, Demographic factor, psychosocial stressor, psychal illness
