Abstract
Teenage girls who are menstruating need to exercise the proper personal hygiene, especially in the female organs outer part, called by vulva hygiene. During the mensturation, Vulva hygiene practices are influenced by knowledge, the higher knowledge shows better attitudes and practices of menstrual vulva hygiene. Data were collected by interview of VII Class nine student in SMPN 1 Mijen gained nine students (100%) did not change the pads every 3-4 hours a day, four students (44.44%) did not wiped down with a tissue after cleaning, five students (55.55%) have never gained the information of maintaining the reproduction cleanliness, Provision of health education with the smart card game method was form of applicative innovation health education delivery compared to one-way lecture method because it increased the attractiveness of teenagers. The study was aimed to assess the influence of smart card game method as vulvar hygiene education media on knowledge, attitudes and practices of vulva hygiene during the menstruation in SMPN 1 Mijen. The research was quantitative pre-experimental with pretest-posttest design used were questionnaire about knowledge, attitudes, and practices of vulva hygiene, as many as result 108 students with a total sampling technique Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test showed the Z value of knowledge (-9.014), attitudes (-8.887), practices ( -9.052) and the p-value (0.000) <0.005, can be concluded that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, thus there was an influence of a smart card method as a media was education on knowledge, attitudes, and practices vulva hygine during menstruation. This research can be a reference for nurses, nursing communities in providing health education to teenegers especially. Keywords : Smart Card Games, Vulva Hygiene, menstruation in teenegers
