Abstract

Anodizing is a process to produce oxide layer electrolitically by placing the object as anode. Anodizing method usually is used to improve aluminum resistance from corrosion. Electroplating is a electrolytical metal coating process. The research has been done to study anodizing effect on chromium electroplating to aluminum. In the study, anodizing was carried out by placing alumunium as anode at 10 V for 30 minutes. Electroplating has been done on anodized aluminum and unanodized at 9 V for 30 minutes. The result showed that anodizing can improve amount of chrom which can be precipitated on aluminum as well as adhesion force between chromium and aluminum.
