Abstract

Water is source of life besides as an infection media of disease (water borne disease). Water borne disease including: typhoid, cholera, diarrhea and hepatitis infectious. Existence of bacteria in water caused by some factors. This research was aimed to explain some factors that correlating to bacteriological content of dug-well water in settlement and to study the influence of distance source of pollutant, amount of pollution resource, physical construction of well which had the most influences to the content of bacteriological dug-well water, studies the behavior influence of dug-well consumer in knowledge, attitude and action to the content of bacteriological dug-well water and to give environmental management’s suggestion in construction of dug-well’s physical building. The type of research was observational research with a cross sectional approach. This research used a multistage: purposive, proportional, and random sampling, all of the samples taken were 40 well. Some factors that estimated influence were analyzed by correlation and regression statistic. The statistical analysis related to bacteriological content of dug-well water with dug-well’s distance factor with the pollution resource, the amount of pollution resource, the construction of dug-well, dug-well user’s behavior in form of knowledge, dug-well user’s behavior in attitude form and dug-well user’s behavior in action form. Research result showed that the correlation between contents of bacteriological dug-well’s water with dug-well’s construction (p value = 0,002) and dug-well user’s behavior in form of action (p value = 0,001) give the most influence and significant contribution.
