Abstract
Industri kertas merupakan salah satu indutri yang menggunakan air dan energi dengan skala besar. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengolahan limbah industri kertas yang mengandung pewarna C.I Direct Blue 15 dengan menggunakan teknologi electrochemical peroxidation dan fered-Fenton. Menggunakan anoda besi dan Ti/Pt dan katoda grafit dalam satu liter limbah yang diolah. Faktor – faktor (pH, arus, konsentrasi H2O2, konsntrasi ion besi dan waktu) dilakukan evaluasi. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa penyisihan warna proses electrochemical peroxidation mencapai 100% dan COD 54% pada pH 3, arus 1 amper dengan penambahan H2O2 0,0495 M. Proses fered-Fenton efektif pada pH 3, arus 1 amper dan perbandingan Fe2+/H2O2 1:5 dengan persentase penyisihan warna 79% dan COD 65%. Proses electrochemical peroxidation dan fered-Fenton merupakan metode pengolahan yang baik untuk menyisihkan warna dan COD pada air limbah. This study tested the decolorization and COD removal of C.I Direct Blue 15 from paper industry solution using an electrochemical peroxidation process and fered-Fenton. In this study using iron and Ti/Pt as anode and graphite as a cathode in one liter of solution. Factors (pH, current, H2O2 concentration, iron concentration and time) were evaluated. The results illustrate that the parameters applied affect the efficiency of the process. Ratio decolorization of C.I Direct Blue 15 is 100% and COD removal 54% at pH 3, current 1 A and H2O2 concentration 0,0495M on electrochemical peroxidation process. The fered-Fenton process decolorization up to 79% and COD removal 65% under pH 3, current 1 A and Fe2+/H2O2 1:5 conditions. The electrochemical peroxidation process and fered-Fenton is the correct method for removing dye compounds from industrial wastes with a high removal ratio.
