Abstract

The high number of victims of the death and injuries due to traffic accidents on the road should not be ignored. One of the vehicles of the highest contributor to the accident, namely motorcycles. Based on the data of the traffic units of the Polres Karanganyar in 2014/2015, traffic accidents increased in number. With a total of 306 traffic accidents in the 2014 and 2015 accident on 907. Human beings, vehicles, the road and the environment are all factors are the main cause of the accident. According to Philip Kotler in (Wasesa, 2005: 13) defines perception as a process whereby a person selects, organizes, and interprets the information that enters into his mind into a meaningful big picture. Someone who perceives an object. After the process occurs it will arise the assessment of the object, both positive and negative. This research is quantitative descriptive using the approach of cross sectional. Samples of research a number of 30 bikers in Karanganyar Regency and using random sampling technique. The results showed that the perception of motorcyclists in Karanganyar Regency against the efforts of Polres Karanganyar ensuring the safety of traffic on the highways as much as 56.7%saying important regarding the safety of traffic on the highway. This value indicates that motorists actually already has a positive perception towards aspects of traffic safety on the road.
