Abstract
This research was conducted in Vocational School in the University of Diponegoro. The matter will be examined, namely the role of the Secretary and the obstacles encountered in implementing the role of Secretary. The author uses this type of descriptive study using qualitative data to figure out the role of the Secretary in assisting the leadership at the Vocational School in the University of Diponegoro. The author uses the observation techniques and data collection process at the interview. Tutor students in School Leadership i.e. research UNDIP, Secretary of the Vocational School in the University of Diponegoro, employees of Vocational School in the University of Diponegoro. The result of this research shows that the role of the Secretary in assisting students in Vocational School in the University of Diponegoro for activities against the leadership of the Secretary's role, the role of the Secretary-General/Home Guard, the role of the Secretary as the keeper of secrets, and the role of the Secretary in managing the information assessed was already good. But there are some constraints in performing the role as Assistant Secretary, namely in dealing with mail and telephone reception. The suggestion that the author can convey in this study that is in handling and processing outgoing mail is not confidential for signed the leadership, when there is no supervisor available, then sebaikanya in the signatories can be submitted to the Vice Dean. And the need for the addition of communications tools such as office phone to use the Special Secretary of the leader.
