Abstract
Teenagers often makes television programs that they watched as an example of how they should behave and keep up their lifestyle as they witness in the television program. The behavior that being identified by adolescent through a program, could lead them to consumptive behavior. This study aims to determine the correlation of watching Korean variety show intensity (running man) and peer group communication intensity with lifestyle identification behavior to adolescent. The respondents in this research is the teenagers in the city of Semarang that aged 18 to 22 years. The study sample size of 50 people where the sampling is done with purposive sampling technique. To examine the correlation between the variable of intensity of watching Korean variety show (running man) with the lifestyle identification behavior to adolescent variables and correlation between the variable of intensity of peer group communication with the lifestyle identification behavior to adolescent variables are using Kendall Rank Correlation Coefficient analysis, while for the test between the two independent variables with the dependent variable is using the Kendall’s Rank Concordance analysis (Kendall’s W Test). The results of the study shown that, the higher intensity of watching Korean variety show (running man) will be followed by higher identification behavior to adolescent, this is because teenagers with high intensity of watching will be easily paying attention to what their idol do and what their idol wear in the program. Likewise, the higher the intensity of peer group communication will be followed by higher identification behavior to adolescent because teenagers mostly will try to be accepted so that they can feels save and survive in their peer group.
