Abstract

Cashew nut oil is the oil obtained from cashew nut shell. Cashew seed consisting of (kernel) and skin (shell), both parts containing oil. Cashew seeds consist of 70 percent and 30 percent of the seed coat meat seeds. Skin (shell) contains about 50 percent oil, known as cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL). Cashew nut oil component comprises from about 90 percent anacardic acid and cardol oil by 10 percent. Cashew seed (kernel) oil contains about 47 percent. The process of extracting the oil is done in two ways, namely by pengepressan and solvent. The means used to oil with a content levels exceeding 30% in general meggunakan pressing with heating pretreatment. This research study " Effects of Pressing Time and Pressure on Yield of Oil from Cashew Nut with Mechanical Method (Press Hidraulic)". Cashew nut was removed and heating at a temperature of 600C. Variable time of suppression (dengam mass of 150 grams) is 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 75 minutes, 90 minutes and 95 minutes. And variable pressure (with a mass of 150 grams) is 100 kg / cm2, 110 kg / cm2, 120 kg / cm2, 130 kg / cm2, 140 kg / cm2. The results of this study obtained the largest yield of variables within 90 minutes with a yield of 16.92%. As for the variable pressure of 130 kg / cm2 with a yield of 12.99%. iv KATA PENGANTAR
