Abstract
Candlenut comes from Hawaii. These plants then spread across the country, including Indonesia. In Indonesia, candlenut can flourish and become a commodity in the country and abroad. Part of the plant form of seeds is often used as a cooking ingredient. Candlenut seeds that contain large amounts of oil, which is 50-60% of the mass of seeds. Candlenut is often used as fertilizer hair, cosmetics, paint materials and varnish materials. Through further research, candlenut oil is expected to be applied in a wider range of people. However, before reaching its destination, it should be reviewed in advance of the methods and conditions for obtaining the maximum amount of candlenut oil and good quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of temperature and pressure to produce a maximum yield and good quality of the oil by using a hydraulic press. The benefits of this research is to provide an overview and information on the temperature and pressure affect the acquisition of candlenut oil from the seeds, which can increase the use of candlenut as a natural resource and support other industries. This research method consists of three parts, namely pretreatment, oil extraction, and oil analysis. Variables used are temperature (700C and 1000C) and pressures (80 and 100 bar).
