ANALISIS USAHATANI DAN PROSPEK PENGEMBANGAN DURIAN (Durio Zibethinus Murray) DI KECAMATAN GUNUNGPATI KOTA SEMARANG

Abstract

Durian Plant is a plant that the fruit could be consumed, this plant is originated from countries with tropical climate. Durian has a high potential to be developed in business, which is supported by many factors as high consumption level, import limitation on durian fruit and Go green concept. District of Gunungpati is a known durian production center in Semarang Region. The purposes of this research were to find out the development of this farm, to calculate the amount of income on durian farm, to identify problems faced by the farmer, and to analyze the development strategies in the future. The location was chosen purposively based on the high crop potential on durian farm. The respondents were chosen using purposive sampling. Data then analyzed using descriptive-quantitative method, and SWOT analyzed. The results were the identification of farm’s development since the productivity increased from 74 kg/plant to 77 kg/plant. The mean revenue gained by this farm was IDR 54,716,250.00, and the net income gained was IDR 51,811,112.00. The mean profitability was 2,831.8%, then correct development strategy was gained for durian farm was Stability. Keywords : development prospect, durian, SWOT
