Abstract
Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) is one of the important agricultural commodity for Indonesia and the International sphere. Indonesia is the largest producer of natural rubber in the world's second largest after Thailand, the rubber is one of many supporting the agricultural economy of the State. In addition to produc e latex, rubber plantations also produce rubber seed that has not been utilized optimally to see the high oil content in the flesh of rubber seed which is equal to 30% then the oil has the potential to be exploited. Along with the need for fuel, the use of rubber seed oil more and more scrutinized. Rubber seed oil extraction process can be done in two ways, among others, the pressing (pressing), and solvents (solvent). Two common ways is by mechanical pressing methods include hydraulic presses (hydraulic pressing) and pressing threaded (screw pressing). How hydraulic pressing need pre-treatment consisting of heating or tempering process. In this research study on the effect of preheating temperature and pressure pressing against the acquisition of rubber seed oil by hydraulic pressing method (Hydraulic pressing). Rubber seeds out of its skin and cleaned and then scaled down the size of rubber seed then heated with variable temperature 70oC, 80oC and 90oC then the rubber seed press pressed with variable pressure 1800 psi and 2000 psi. The results of this study obtained the largest percentage yield on variable preheating temperature 90° C with a pressure of 2000 psi press that is equal to 15.9%. Keywords : Rubber seed, Hydraulic pressing, Rubber seed oil
