Abstract
Schizophrenia is a serious brain disease resulting in persistent and psychotic behavior, concrete thinking, and difficulty in information processing, interpersonal relationships as well as the difficulty in solving the problem. Spititualitas very important for people with chronic illnesses, such as schizophrenia. The purpose of this study is to representate the level of spirituality in person with schizophrenia in the Outpatient Clinic of Regional Mental Hospital Dr. Amino Gondohutomo Semarang. Methods of data collection use quantitative descriptive research design with cross-sectional approach. The total sample of 98 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. Collecting data use a questionnaire consisting of respondent characteristics (demographic data and clinical data) and the level of spirituality. Univariate analysis use descriptive statistical tests to obtain a respondent characteristics (demographic data and clinical data) and the level of respondent’s spirituality. The results of this study showed that people with schizophrenia who have a high level of spirituality as many as 52 people, a medium as many as 42 people, and a low of 4 people. Meanwhile, if based on aspects of closeness with God, the result of people with schizophrenia who feel as close to as many as 3 people, very close to as many as 22 people, rather close to as many as 71 people, and not at all close as much as 2 people. The results of this research can be used as a basis by all medical personnel to further improve mental nursing health sevices to the person with schizophrenia, especially to meet the needs of their spirituality.
