Abstract
ABSTRACT Fanny Shofiyatul Izzah The Description of Continuing Education of Nurses in Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Salatiga xiv + 80 Pages + 18 Tables + 2 Pictures + 25 Attachments The development of science and technology, make health information is developing too, therefore the nurses are demanded to increase their competence by following Continuing Professional Deveopment (CPD), which part of them is continuing education. This descriptive study aims to describe nurses in hospitals Salatiga in conducting continuing education. The method used is survey with cross sectional design. Sampling technique is quota sampling which involving 152 respondents. The results of this study indicate that in the 2015-2016, 42.1% of respondents had received training in-house as much as two times, 41.5% had attended training held outside the hospital as much as one time, 82.9% never follow conferences, 33.5% had joined seminars as one-time, 77% have never attended a workshop. The conclusion of this study is in the 2015-2016, the majority of respondents had received training in-house as much as two times, training outside as much as one, have never attended a conference, seminar only once, and never participated in workshops. The reason to follow them is to increase knowledge and reason to postpone it is the responsibility of the family, constraints on finance and accommodation. Nurses are expected to participate in continuing education to improve the competence for improving the quality of nursing service.
