Abstract

The main objective of the company is to survive in the stringent competitive business industry. All competing to attract investors by keeping the firm value. Earnings being one of the pull factors investors. Profitability ratio is an important role in relation to the firm value. The company also seeks to make social responsibility that would have a positive impact on the firm value. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of profitability on firm value with social responsibility disclosure as an intervening variable. The sample used in this study were 70 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and disclose their social responsibility in the annual report 2012. This study uses regression analysis and path analysis also Sobel test to examine the effect of intervening. The results of data processing show that the profitability have positive effect on the social responsibility disclosure. Similarly, the test of profitability and social responsibility disclosure has a positive effect on firm value. While the results of path analysis and Sobel test showed that the profitability can directly affect to the firm value and indirectly affect through social responsibility disclosure.
