Abstract

Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) is one of agriculture products which could potentially make healthy and has a nutrient composition which is fairly complete, especially amino acids. At this lab using a spectrophotometer Optima SP 300 is based on the phenomenon of light absorption by specific chemical species in the area of visible light (visible). For the reference solution and the standard solution, it can be concluded that the smaller the transmittance of the solution, the greater the absorbance, and vice versa. Both have a relationship which is inversely proportional. Based on experiments on measuring the absorbance obtained linear equations, namely 0,0078x - 0.0053 with R2 = 0.9793. From the experimental results of analysis of amino acids in tomatoes as much as five times the average concentration of restating be obtained - average of 22.29 ppm. Keywords : spectrophotometer, tomato analysis, tomato’s amino acid
