Abstract
Raw materials used in this lab is the result of oil ginger essential oil of ginger in Ungaran, using water and steam distillation method. This lab uses adsorption methods, with bentonite as adsorbent, tool Hot plate magnetic stirrer. Selection of bentonite as adsorbent because bentonite has the ability to mengadsorb camphene compounds, with reduced levels of camphene in ginger oil, then zingiberene levels will increase, so that the quality of essential oil of ginger, the better. Based on practice is known that the higher the temperature in the process of adsorption, the faster compound camphene be absorbed by bentonite, so that the levels zingiberene faster increase, but if the adsorption is done at high temperature and for a long time it happened desorption process in which a compound camphene which has be absorbed will regardless back. In the lab ginger oil with bentonite adsorbs most optimal at 60 0C with a time of 10 minutes 11.55% obtained zingiberene levels, because at the same temperature with a longer time (30 minutes) decreased levels of zingiberene (desorption) resulting from the release compound has campheneyang teradsorb, while the ginger oil adsorption experiments with bentonite lowest at 40 0C with a time of 10 minutes 10.15% obtained zingiberene levels. The things that affect the results of the lab is the presence of impurities. Factors that affect the process adsrobsi are temperature, time, stirring speed, the surface area of the adsorbent and adsorbate concentration. Keywords: Ginger, adsorbs, bentonite, zingerbern
