Abstract

ABSTRACT Number of pilgrims who wish to perform the pilgrimage from year to year is increasing. This is because the awareness and financial capability of the Indonesian population is increasing continuously in addition to increasing population. It has been demonstrated that the religious life flourished in Indonesia, and also the attention of the government towards implementation of the pilgrimage is very good. Hajj Dormitory Embarkation in Semarang now needs to be improved functions. Moreover, the number of applicants pilgrims growing bigger and bigger year and the quota increase will be proposed by the Government of Indonesia, especially Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, the Government of Saudi Arabia reached 60% after restoring otal 2016 quota year into 210,000 of the 168,000 pilgrims. Means are quite important for the pilgrims is the Hajj Dormitory. Here the restrictions discussed in this article relates to the development of Hajj Dormitory, which has become a task of the government to constantly improve services to the community, especially in the pilgrimage, the Hajj Dormitory development. The concept of the building itself emphasis on space management by taking into account spatial planning system and the emphasis on the shape of the building. Selection of the shape and appearance of the building is a building that has the image of Saudi Arabia, due to the character of the building was expected to provide a psychological effect for the pilgrims.
