Abstract

Alat penukar panas merupakan suatu komponen yang sangat penting dalam suatu industri yang melibatkan proses transfer panas seperti pembangkit listrik. Di pembangkit listrik, ada banyak alat penukar panas yang dapat melakukan proses transfer panas. Salah satunya adalah unit Cooling Water Heat Exchanger. Cooling Water Heat Exchanger merupakan alat penukar panas bertipe Plate Heat Exchanger dimana terdapat plat-plat yang digunakan sebagai media transfer panas. PLTU 3 Jawa Timur Tanjung Awar – Awar Tuban terdiri dari 2 unit dimana masing – masing unitnya mempunyai 2 unit cooling water heat exchanger sehingga totalnya menjadi 4 buah yaitu 1A,1B,2A,2B. Tujuan dari penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui unjuk kerja dari salah satu Cooling Water Heat Exchanger unit 1. Dengan metode effectiveness – NTU, akan diketahui seberapa besar efektivitas yang diberikan oleh Cooling Water Heat Exchanger unit 1 tersebut. Penulis membatasi evaluasi alat penukar panas ini ketika unit 1 PLTU 3 Jawa Timur Tanjung Awar-Awar Tuban pada tanggal 15 februari dan 17 februari 2015, dengan adanya proses pembersihan (cleaning) yang dilakukan pada tanggal 16 februari 2015. Dengan proses evaluasi metode effectiveness – NTU tersebut, diperoleh bahwa nilai rata-rata yang diberikan ketika unit beroperasi pada tanggal 15 februari 2015 saat alat terindikasi terjadi pengotoran / sebelum dilakukan pembersihan (cleaning) adalah sebesar 28,77% sedangkan pada tanggal 17 februari 2015 saat alat kondisi bersih / setelah dilakukan pembersihan (cleaning) adalah sebesar 58,63%. Kata Kunci : Plate Heat Exchanger, Alat Penukar Panas, Cooling Water Heat Exchanger , Effectiveness , NTU. The heat exchanger is a very important component in an industry that involves a process of heat transfer such as power plants. The power plant, there is a lot of heat exchangers which can make the process of heat transfer. One of them is a unit Cooling Water Heat Exchangers.Water Cooling Heat Exchanger is a type of heat exchanger Plate Heat Exchanger where there are plates which are used as the heat transfer medium. 3 power plant in East Java Tanjung Awar - Awar Tuban consists of 2 units where each - each unit has 2 units of cooling water heat exchanger, bringing the total to 4 pieces, namely 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B. The purpose of this thesis was to determine the performance of one of Cooling Water Heat Exchangers unit 1. With this method of effectiveness - NTU, will know how much the effectiveness provided by the Water Cooling Heat Exchanger The unit 1. Writer limit evaluation when the heat exchanger unit 1 3 power plant in East Java Tuban Tanjung Awar-Awar on 15 February and 17 February 2015, in the presence of the cleaning process were performed on 16 February 2015.With the effectiveness of the methods of evaluation process - the NTU, found that the average value given when the unit operates on 15 February 2015 occurred when the tool indicated fouling / prior to cleaning amounted to 28.77% and on 17 February 2015 when the tool pristine condition / after cleaning amounted to 58.63%.
