Abstract

Background: Testicular torsion is an emergency that needs to be treated less than 6 hours (golden period) to prevent further tissue damage permanently. One of methods to prevent further tissue damage is administrating antioxidant substance. Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors is one of antioxidant substances that work specifically in testicular tissue. Administration of Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors is predicted to rejuvenate tissue damage in testicular torsion. Objectives: Determine the difference of inflammatory degree in male Sprague Dawley rats with testicular torsion between sample and control. Methods: This study was true experimental study with post only controlled group design. This study was using 10 Male Sprague Dawley rats divided into 2 groups of sample and control. Results: Mann Whitney statistic test has shown significant difference (p<0,014) in inflammatory degree of histopathology between sample and control Conclusion: There is a difference of inflammatory degree among Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors administrated male Sprague Dawley rats with testicular torsion compared to without Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors administrated male Sprague Dawley rats with testicular torsion. Keywords:Testicular Torsion, Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors
