Abstract
ABSTRAKSI Pariwisata punya peran penting dalam pembangunan nasional, karena eksistensinya sebagai salah satu pemasok devisa, meratakan dan meningkatkan kesempatan kerja danpendapatan, memperkokoh persatuan, dan kesatuan, serta mengenal budaya bangsa. Paparan media merupakan salah satu sarana membangun minat para pengunjung suatu objek wisata. Selain berbagai media komunikasi elektronik dan cetak sebagai sumber informasi, cerita dari orang atau getok tular juga mampu membangun minat orang sehingga merasa tertarik untuk melihat obyek kunjungan wisata. Berdasarkan tujuannya, penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian eksplanatori yaitu menjelaskan situasi atau masalah penelitian bersangkutan hubungan sebab akibat kuantitatif. Sementara berdasarkan dimensi waktu, penelitian ini dilakukan secara cross-sectional, yakni hanya melakukan penelitian sekali pada satu waktu tertentu, dengan pertimbangan keterbatasan waktu dan biaya. Populasi merujuk pada keseluruhan suatu kelompok yang memiliki karakteristik sejenis.Keseluruhan kelompok atau populasi ini dapat berupa manusia, objek, materi, peristiwa dan seterusnya.Dalam penelitian ini adalah pengunjung makam Sunan Kalijaga. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik sampling aksidental. Teknik penentuan sampel berdasarkan kebetulan, yaitu siapa saja yang secara kebetulan bertemu dengan peneliti dapat digunakan sebagai sampel, bila dipandang orang yang kebetulan ditemui itu cocok sebagai sumber data.Besar untuk penelitian ini sebanyak 100. Dalam upaya menjawab pertanyaan penelitian tentang hubungan intensitas eksposure media elektronik, intensitas getok tular dan minat mengunjungi makam Sunan Kalijaga disimpulkan sebagai berikut, Ada korelasi yang signifikan antara intensitas paparan media elektronik dengan minat mengunjungi makam Sunan Kalijaga sehingga dapat dinyatakan variabel eksposure media elektronik mempunyai pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel minat mengunjungi makam Sunan Kalijaga. Ada korelasi yang signifikan antara intensitas getok tular dengan minat mengunjungi makam Sunan Kalijaga sehingga dapat dinyatakan variabel intensitas getok tular mempunyai pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel minat mengunjungi makam Sunan Kalijaga. Koefisien korelasi ganda (hubungan bersama-sama) antara intensitas eksposure media dan intensitas getok tular dengan minat Mengunjungi Makam Sunan Kalijaga signifikan. Kata Kunci: intensitas, eksposure media elektronik, getok tular, minat ABSTRACT Tourism has an important role in national development because of its existence as one of foreign exchange suppliers, distributing and increasing employment opportunities and income, strengthening unity, and recognizing national culture. Media exposure is one of means to develop visitor intention of a tourism object. Besides several printed and electronic communication media as information source, story from other people or word-of-mouth can also develop intention to visit a tourism object. Based on the goals, this study was included in explanatory study, i.e. explaining a situation or problem of a study related to quantitative causal relationship. While based on time dimension, this study was conducted in cross-sectional way, i.e. only conducting a study once at a certain time with consideration of cost and time limitation. Population refers to an entire group with similar characteristics. The group or population can be human, object, material, event, and so on. In this study, it was the visitors of Sunan Kalijaga’s grave. The sampling in this study was conducted using accidental sampling technique. The sampling technique was accidentally, i.e. whoever accidentally meeting the researcher could be used as sample, when it was observed, the people accidentally met were suitable to be data source. The number of samples for this study was 100. In the effort of answering research problem regarding the relationship between electronic media exposure intensity, word-of-mouth intensity, and intention to visit Sunan Kalijaga’s grave, it could be concluded as the following. There was a significant correlation between electronic media exposure intensity and intention to visit Sunan Kalijaga’s grave so that it could be stated that variable of electronic media exposure had positive and significant effect on variable of intention to visit Sunan Kalijaga’s grave. There was a significant correlation between word-of mouth intensity and intention to visit Sunan Kalijaga’s grave so that it could be stated that variable of word-of-mouth had positive and significant effect on variable of intention to visit Sunan Kalijaga’s grave. Multiple correlation coefficient (mutual relationship) between media exposure intensity and word-of-mouth with intention to visit Sunan Kalijaga’s grave was significant.
