Penataan PKL Sebagai Pasar Loak di Sempadan Sungai Kali Gelis Kabupaten Kudus

Abstract

The street vendor existence use pedestrian way as place for selling their merchandise is usually happen in cities or towns in Indonesia. Especially in Kudus city there is a street vendor location is called “Pasar loak kali gelis” by local society or “kali gelis flea market” in english. The name is Pasar Loak Kali Gelis caused the area that used by street vendor is kali gelis river border. it has been provided by local goverment for relocation them from around Sunan Kudus street near Sunan Kudus grave that always make traffic jam and dirty there . Nowadays, rise amount of street vendor on their activity area can not be apart from development and dynamism of kudus city itself, and inseparable from history of why the street vendor relocated to kali gelis river border was for straightening up traffic jam and dirty cused by them. from it’s history can be known the reason about the relocation, but the reality of the way is making traffic jam and dirty in new place. Although it makes new problem, but also it gives new benefit for around citizen that use the existence of street vendor for sell their service and merchandise . The goal of the arrangement of street vendor on the kali gelis river border is making the area of the location of it become flea market which can accomodate visiters, buyers, vendors, and around society with giving architectural quality in building or place and other technical aspects. Because the location existence on the river border and adjacent with Niti Sumito’s home and warehouse who is a pioneer of cigarrete industrialist in Kudus in 1914s, then the concept for the arrangement is using kali gelis river and his building existence as a theme. The building form that used for accomodating street vendor is not permanent building and use knockdown structure. the building use appearance partition only for border every kiosk with others, it’s for making more open space and using the river and inheritance building as point of view.
