Abstract

ABSTRACT Frequency of landslides in Tegal regency increasing every year. The cover area is also increasingly widespread distribution, especially in district Jatinegara, Bojong and Bumijawa. The third areas of this district is a hilly region with a height ranging from 300 - 1200 meters above sea level. Factors that cause landslides by Ditjen Bina Pengelolaan DAS dan Perhutanan Nasional Kementerian Kehutanan are rainfall, slope, rock/soil type, depth of impermeable layer and land use. The method used in data mining is a method of interviews with residents and stakeholders, and field observations in areas prone to landslides which have been mentioned above. Secondary data used is development plan maps and disaster risk data of Tegal regency from BPBD (Government agencies that deal with natural disaster). The purpose of this paper was to determine the level of vulnerability to disasters especially landslides and provide recommendations on the people who live in areas prone to landslides and determine the role of local governments in providing guidance and socialization in public about avalanche dangers. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that in Tegal regency, especially in disaster-prone areas: the location of the access road to the village has a very damaged condition, the citizens do not know the government agency in charge of disaster due to inhibition of information at government level due to lack of socialization and the villages in Tegal doesn’t have adequate evacuation center and evacuation routes.
