Abstract

Kata Kunci : Embung, Metode, Kebutuhan air minum. ix ABSTRACT DESIGN OF BENGAWAN SMALL DAM TARAKAN EAST KALIMANTAN City of Tarakan, East Kalimantan Province is an area of flat to hilly, with the hills extending curved toward the Northwest to the Southeast. Under these conditions the water requirements obtained from rain alone. Tarakan city also lies in the tropics, so there are two seasons, rainy and dry season. Apart from that town Tarakan is also a city that is experiencing economic growth, so the population increased. This resulted in the need for raw water as a critical need for the people of Tarakan also increased, and this raises new problems for the population in Tarakan. To these problems as an alternative to solving the problem is to build ponds are used to store water in the rainy season and used the dry season. Construction of these ponds needs to be a careful planning. In this thesis will discuss the method - the method for calculation of some analysis - includes planning analysis; hydrological analysis, bin capacity analysis, analysis of the raw water requirements, water balance analysis, analysis techniques and analysis of Spillway. For analysis of the design and construction include body stability ponds, Spillway. In this study height and elevation of Spillway optimized with respect to the stability of the small dam body. From the planning of it was gained elevation of Spillway +22.00. From the elevation of Spillway was obtained bin volume of 174,241.30 m3 and extensive pool of 80 396 m2. With the volume of the existing bin can be sufficient for drinking water of 120 liters / person / day. Keywords: Spillway, methods, drinking water needs.
