Abstract

Democracy is an important notion chosen by our nation to be a guideline in our political life. By this concept, we want to see an effective mechanism of check and balance between political institutions. But our history records many failures in implementing democracy within our political system. In the past, authoritarian regimes had abused power in the name of democracy and victimized our people, and our current government still inherited bad practices from that dark history. This paper intends to analyze several factors that hinder the real democracy in our country and some solutions to overcome them. Keywords : Democracy, political system, law supremacy.
