Abstract

ABSTRACT In many processing industrial firms, the number of output in the production process is not constant. This is because the production process based on the order from customers. In order to fulfill the demands of the customers, the firms need to device a production schedule. One of the obstacles in fullfill the order from customers is the schedule method that is being applied. For the time being, the firms is applying the FCFS (First Come First Served). This method will be compared with EDD (Earliest Due Date) method. The EDD method will take into account the due date of syrup life span and production schedule. A schedule software Q.S (Quantitative System) 3.0th version is need to analyse compare performance of the two methods. From the analyse we can conclude that EDD method is better than FCFS method. ABSTRAK Pada beberapa perusahaan industri proses, output yang dihasilkan jumlahnya tidak tetap. Hal ini dikarenakan proses produksi berlangsung berdasarkan order yang diterima dari konsumen. Dalam usaha memenuhi order dan konsumen, maka perlu dilakukan penjadwalan produksi dengan harapan order dapat dipenuhi. Salah satu kendala dalam memenuhi order dari konsumen adalah metode penjadwalan yang digunakan. Metode yang digunakan perusahaan saat ini adalah FCFS (First Come First served) akan dibandingkan dengan metode EDD (Earliest Due Date) yakni dengan memperhatikan due date atau batas waktu sirup dan production schedule. Dari hasil perbandingan dari kedua metode akan dilakukan analisa perbandingannya dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak (software) penjadwalan Q.S (Quantitative System) versi 3.0. Basil analisa perbandingan menunjukkan bahwa metode EDD lebih baik dibandingkan dengan metode FCFS. Basil dan metode FCFS dan EDD hanya mendekati optimal, karena keduanya adalah metode heuristic.
