Abstract
Surfaktan kationik merupakan senyawa aktif permukaan dengan gugus hidrofil yang bermuatan positif, sebagai contoh senyawa-senyawa amonium kuarterner yang digunakan dalam pelembut pakaian untuk industri tekstil maupun rumah tangga. Konsentrasi tinggi senyawa-senyawa amonium kuarterner dapat rnembahayakan kehidupan lingkungan perairan sehingga perlu diadakan pengambilan kembali. Sublasi merupakan suatu metode pengambilan kembali surfaktan dari larutannya yang didasarkan pada adsorpsi surfaktan pada antannuka gas-cair. Proses sublasi dilakukan dengan menambahkan garam ke dalam larutan surfaktan kationik dan mengatur tekanan gas nitrogen, sehingga hasil sublasi maksimum. Hasil sublasi dianalisis dengan metode bahan aktif Orange II (dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis), spektrofotometer FTIR dan pengulcuran tegangan permukaan dilakukan dengan metode tekanan maksimum gelembung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada penambahan garam sebesar 80 gram NaC1 dan 4 gram NaHCO3 proses sublasi optimum untuk larutan pelembut pakaian A dan larutan pelembut pakaian B dengan recovery 92,78 % dan 93,56 %. Larutan pelembut pakaian C optimum pada penambahan 60 gram NaC1 dan 3 gram NaHCO3 dengan recovery 93,36 %. Analisis spektra FTIR basil sublasi larutan pelembut pakaian menunjukkan terdapatnya gugus-gugus fungsi yang sama dengan gugus-gugus fungsi dari senyawa amonium kuarterner. Dan spektra ketiga hasil sublasi terdapat puncak-puncak spektra pada 2850,0-2920,0 cm -I menunjukkan adanya gugus fungsi C-H dan pada 1010,6-1126,6 cm-1 menunjukan adanya gugus fungsi C-N. Tegangan permukaan larutan setelah disublasi meningkat yang menunjukkan bahwa surfaktan telah terambil dad larutannya. Cationic surfactans are surface-active agent with hydrophilic group bears a positive charge, for example quaternary ammonium compound that used as industrially textile softener and for home. High concentration of quaternary ammonium compound in softener can be dangerous to some aquatic life so its necessary to recover. Sublation is a method to recover surfactant from its solution that based on surfactant adsorption at gas-aqueous interfaces. Sublation process has been done by adding salts to cationic surfactant solution and by regulate nitrogen gas pressure. Sublation results are analyzed by Orange II-Active Substance Method (using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer), FTIR Spectrophotometer and bubbles maximum tension method to measure the surface tension. The results showed that addition of 80 gram of NaCI and 4 gram of NaHCO3 made the sublation process became optimum for softeners solution A and B with recovery of 92.78 % and 93.56 %. Softener solution C was optimum at addition of 60 gram of NaCI and 3 gram of NaHCO3 with recovery 93.36 %. The FTIR spectrum showed that there was Quaternary ammonium compounds. The spectrum sublation result showed peaks are 2850.0-2920.0 cm -1 that C-H functional groups and 1010.6-1126.6 cm that C-N functional groups. The surface tension was increased for the solution after sublation process. It showed that surfactant have been recovered from its solution.
