Abstract
A Compton suppression gamma-ray spectrometry system has been evaluated for its use as a low level radioactivity counting facility. This system consists of preMium quality HPGe detector surrounded by NaI(Tl) detector:- material as a active shield. Compton suppression is obtained by operating the two detector in anti-coincidence system. The system performance consider a function of physical characteristics of sampel, scatering angle and gamma-photon energy. Compton continuum reduction for cascaded gamma-transitions and natural background are considered separately. INTISARI Telah dipelajari sistem supressi Compton spektrometri sinar gamma, digunakan sebagai peralatan pencacahan radioaktivitas rendah. Sistem ini terdiri atas detektor HPGe kualitas tinggi yang dilingkupi dengan detektor NaI(T1) sebagai perisai aktif. Penekanan (supressi) Compton diperoleh dengan mengoperasikan kedua detektor dengan sistem anti-koinsidensi, perancangan sistem hamburan dan energy foton gamma, sistem ini juga memperhatikan pengurangan dataran Compton dari pancaran gamma dan cacah latar. iv
