Abstract
An experiment was conducted at the Laboratoiy of Meat and Drought Animal, Diponegoro University, Semarang. from October 2002 to January 2003. The aims of this experiment were to determine the average daily gain, microbial protein production and protein retention. Twelve male thin tail sheep (aged 10-11 months, weighed 19.99±0.93 kg) were fed napier grass as a basal diet. They were allocated into a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and four replications. The treatments applied were the level of dried tofu waste given to the sheep, namely = 0.6%, 1.2% and 1.8% of body weight. The parameters 'measured were dry matter intake, average daily gain, microbial protein production, rumen amnia consentration, blood urea and protein retention. Data were analysed by analysis of variance with Orthogonal Polynomial test as the sequal. The results showed that the treatments had highly significant (P< 0,01) on dry matter intake, average daily gain, microbial protein production, and protein retention. While the amonia concentration, and blood urea were not significantly (P> 0,05). The average dry matter intakes were 593.02" g/d on T I ; 638.83g/d on T2; and 812.71 g/d on T3. The average daily gain were 42.50 g/d on T1; 48.45 g/d on T2; and 107.26 g/d on T3. The average microbial protein production were 5.67 g/d on Tl: 12.25 g/d on T2; and 36.44 g/d on T3. The average amonia consentration were 40.85 mM/I Tl; 20.03 mM/1 on T2; and 29.84 mM/I on T3. The average blood Urea consentration were 58,48 mg/1 on '11 ; 59.58 mg/1 on T2 and 62.00 mg/I on T3. The average protein retention were 11.53 g/d on Tl; 21.08 g/d on T2; and 38.99 g/d on T3. The Napier grass supplementation with dry tofu waste increased average daily gain, microbial proteift production and protein retention in male thin tail sheep. The best result was given by sheep of T3. Suatu penelitian telab dilaksanakan di kandang individu milik Laboratorium Ternak Potong dan Keija Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, dari bulan Oktober 2002 sarnpai Januari 2003. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh aras pemberian ampas tahu kering terhadap pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH), produksi protein mikroba, dan retensi protein. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 12 ekor domba ekor tipis jantan, umur sekitar 10 - 11 bulan, dengan bobot badan awal 19,99 ± 0,93 kg. Domba-domba tersebut diberi pakan basal rumput Gajah, dan dialokasikan dalam rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan tiga perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adeah tingkat pemberian ampas tabu kering, yaitu 0,6% (T1), 1,2% (T2) dan 1,8% (T3) dari bobot badan. Parameter yang diukur adalah konsumsi bahan kering' (BK), PBBH, produksi protein mikroba, konsentrasi amonia rwnen, kandungan urea darah, dan retensi protein. Data dianalisis dengan arkalisis Varian, dengan Uji lanjutan Polinomial Orthogonal. Ilasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh perlakuan terhadap konsumsi BK, PBBH, produksi protein mikroba, retensi protein, sangat nyata (PC 0,01). Konsentrasi amonia rumen dan kandungan urea darah lidak berbeda nyata (P > 0,05). Rata-rata konsumsi BK pada T1 = 593,02 g; T2 = 638,83 g; dan T3 = 812,71 g. Rata-rata PBBH pada Tl = 42,50 g; T2 = 48,45 g; dan T3 = 107,26 g. Rata — rata produksi protein mikroba pada T1 = 5,67 g/h; T2 = 12,25 g/h; dan T3 = 36,44 g/h. Rata — rata konsentrasi amonia rumen pada T1 = 40,85 mNI/1; T2 = 20,03 mN1/1; dan T3 = 29,84 mM/I. Rata-rata kandungan urea darah pada T1 = 58,48 mg/1; T2 = 59,58 mg/1; dan T3 = 62,00 mg/I. Rata — rata retensi protein pada Ti = 11,53 g; T2 = 21,08 g; dan. T3 = 38,99 g Dan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ampas tahu kering rneningkatkan PBBH, produksi protein mikroba dan retensi protein pada domba ekor tipis jantan. Pemberian ampas tahu kering yang terbaik terdapat pada pedakuan T3.
