Abstract

Public accounting practice has been the venue of substantial research in the area of gender issues. However the research gender issues has not extensively investigate auditor in government sector. The objective of this research examine differences personality was reflected by motivation, job satisfaction, profesional comitment, organization comitment, job opportunity, stress which seen from the difference gender. This research used 79 male auditors and 37 female auditor from BPKP Perwakilan Propinsi Jawa Tengah as the respondent. This analysis method that was used to examine mitovation, job satisfaction, profesional comitment, job opportuniny, stress, is Multivariate Analysis of Variance (Manova) and independent T-test. The result of this research showed that there was significant difference motivation and comitment organization between male and female auditor, but for job satisfaction, profesional comitment, job opportunity, stress, no significant difference between male and famale. Masalah gender telah banyak diteliti dalam praktek akuntan publilc, akan tetapi penelitian menyangkut masalah gender masa' sedikit dalam bidang auditor pemerintah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan personalitas yang diprolcsikan dengan motivasi, kepuasan kerja, komitment Profesional, komitment organisasi, kesempatan kerja dan tekanan kerja. Penelitian ini menggunakan 79 auditor pria dan 37 auditor wanita dari BPICP Perwakilan Propinsi Jawa Tengah sebagai responden. Mat analisis yang digunakan untuk menguji perbedaan gender terhadap motivasi, kepuasan kerja, komitment profesional, komitment organisasi, kesempatan kerja, tekanan kerja adalah dengan teknik Multivariate Analysis of Variance (Manova) dan independent T-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan mengenai personalitas dalam hal motivasi, dan dalam hal komitment organisasi antara auditor pria dan auditor wanita, sedangkan kepuasan kerja, komitment profesional, kesempatan kerja, tekanan kerja tidak terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan antara auditor prig dan wanita.
