Abstract

This research intended to see the determine the differences in work attitude, motivation, discrimination and organizational commitment of controller both in manufacture and banking industries which were seen from the differences in the aspects of gender and occupation. Respondents of this study was controller who work in manufacture and banking industries in Semarang. This research was utilized survey method. The analysis method that was used to examine work attitude, motivation, discrimination and organizational commitment based on difference in gender is t-test and for the difference in occupation used analysis of variance. 340 questionare for manufacture industry and 250 questionares for banking industry. Thus, there 78 respondents for manufacture industry and 69 respondents for banking industry that could be analyzed and returned. The result of this research show that there was no difference in work attitude in the aspects of gender and occupation both in the manufacture and also in the banking industries. The result of the mativation variable show that there was no significant differentiation about work motivation which was seen from differences in gender and occupation, both in the manufacture industry and the banking industry. The test about discrimination at the working place in the manufacture industry showed that if the test was seen from the difference in gender, there was not the differentiation about work discrimination, but if the test was seen from the difference in occupation, there was a significant differentiation about work discrimination. In the banking industry, it was seen both from differences in gender and occupation, it was not found work discrimination. The last variable in this research is organizational commitment which consist of three component, there are affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment. In the manufacture industry, if the test was seen from the difference in gender, actually there was not organizational commitment between male and female employee. If it was seen from the diference in occupation, there was the differentation between them about their organizational commitment. In the banking industry, if it was seen from the differences in gender and occupation, there was not the differentiation about organizational commitment in affective commitment, continuance commitment and also in normative commitment. ABSTRAKSI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan sikap kerja, motivasi, diskriminasi dan komitmen organisasi controller balk yang bekeria pada industri manufaktur maupun industri perbankan dilihat dari perbedaan jender dan jabatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan responden controller yang bekeria pada industri manufaktur dan industri perbankan di Semarang. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei. Mat analisis yang digunakan untuk menguji sikap kerja, motivasi, diskriminasi dan komitmen organisasi berdasar perbedaan jender adalah dengan uji- t dan untuk perbedaan jabatan dengan Analisis varians. Kuesioner yang dikirim sebanyak 340 untuk industri manufaktur dan 250 untuk industri perbankan. Kuesioner yang kembali dan dapat dianalisis sebanyak 78 untuk industri manufaktur dan 69 untuk industri perbankan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak ada perbedan sikap kerja controller dilihat dari perbedaan jender dan jabatan balk pada industri manulaktur maupun industri perbankan. Pada variabel motivasi, hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan motivasi kerja secara signifikan dilihat dari perbedaan jender dan jabatan baik pada industri manufaktur maupun industri perbankan.Pengujian mengenai diskriminasi di tempat kerja, pada industri manufaktur menunjukkan, jika dilihat dad perbedaan jender ternyata tidak terdapat perbedaan diskriminasi kerja. Namun demikian dilihat dari perbedaan jabatan ternyata ditemukan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dalam hal diskriminasi di tempat kerja. Pada industri perbankan baik dilihat dari perbedaan jender dan jabatan ternyata tidak ditemukan adanya diskriminasi kerja.Variabel teralchir dalam penelitian ini adalah komitmen organisasi yang terdiri dari tiga komponen yaitu affective commitment, continuance commitment dan normative commitment. Pada industri manufaktur dilihat dari perbedaan jender ternyata tidak ada perbedaan komitmen organisasi antara pegawai laki-laki dan perempuan. Akan tetapi jika dilihat dari perbedaan jabatan ditemukan ada perbedaan antara mereka dalam hal komitmen organisasinya. Lain halnya pada industri perbankan, dilihat dari perbedaan jender dan jabatan ternyata tidak terdapat perbedaan komitmen organisasi, baik dalam hal yaitu affective commitment, continuance commitment maupun normative commitment.
