Pengaruh Keluarga, Peer Group dan Media Massa terhadap Orientasi Politik Mahasiswa Fisip Undip

Abstract

This research was implemented to find out the influence between agents of political socialization and the forming of political orientation on individuals, in which factors of family, peer group and mass media were used in forming political orientation on individuals. This research used a quantitative method with an explanatory approach to xplin the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables from the theme of the research, that was, to explain the variable position of family, mass media, peer group, political orientation and the relationship between one variable and another variable. Then th data was processed by using regression analysis technique. To obtin the data, the writer collected the data through questionnaire, in which the population was 847 students of first degree (S1) regular in the FISIP UNDIP. The questionnaire were handed out through sample determination by using quota sampling method. That was. Quota-based sampling as many as 86 students. The research result shows that there is a significant influence between family (X1) and political orientation (Y), between peer group (X2) and political orientation (Y) and between mass media (X3) and political orientation (Y). In addition, the total influence given by the variables of family, peer group and mass media simultaneously on the political orientation was 38,7%. It means that, the factor forming the political orientation on students as 38,7% was caused by the contribution from variables of family, peer group and mass media.
