Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. Sri Rejeki Isman Textil ( Sritex ) - Sukoharjo. The objective of this study is to know the differences at the degree of job satisfaction, in lower level labors, such as supervisors, monthly labors, and daily labors. More specially, the study tries to seek the difference of the job satisfaction between supervisor and non supervisor, as well as between male and female labors. In this research, the degree of job satisfaction will be related with five factors, consist of : the work itself, pay, promotion opportunity, supervision, and co- wokers. The study also tries to know relation between degree of job satisfaction and five factors mentioned above. The number of respondent in the study 101 persons, consist of 19 persons as supervisor, and 82 persons as non supervisor (monthly and daily labors). In term of gender, 49 respondents are male and 52 respondents are female. The "U"-Test ( The Mann Whitney-Test ) statistic model was used to analyse the difference of degree of job satisfaction between supervisors and non supervisors, as well as male and female labors, using degree of signification 5%. The result of the study shows that there was no difference in term of degree of job satisfaction between supervisor and non supervisor. If it is associated with five factors, the finding shows those five factors have not significant influence job satisfaction. For the degree of job satisfaction between male and female labors, it also shows that there is no significant influence if associated with four factors. However there is one factor, that is co-workers has significant influence with job satisfaction. The association between job satisfaction and five factors was tested using Chi Square statistical technique and coeficient contigency model. The result indicated, that there are strong association between job satisfaction and four factors, except the work itself. Therefore to reach maximum job satisfaction labors at PT. Sritex, for supervisor, monthly labors and daily labors, as well as male and female labors. The management of PT. Sritex has to put attention on these five factors above mentioned seriously. ABSTRAK : Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT. Sritex Rejeki Isman Textil ( Sritex ) - Sukoharjo. Peneliti ingin mengetahui perbedaan tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan golongan bawah, yaitu Supervisor ( penyelia), karyawan bulanan dan karyawan harian. Perbedaan tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan tersebut, antara supervisor dengan non supervisor sena antara karyawan pria dengan wanita. Dalam penelitian ini tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan dikaitkan dengan lima faktor yang mempengaruhinya, yaitu : pekerjaan itu sendiri, gaji, kesempatan promosi, atasan dan kolega kerja. Kemudian juga diteliti hubungan antara tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan PT. Sritex dengan ke lima faktor yang mempengaruhi tersebut. Sampel penelitian adalah 101 orang, terdiri dari 19 orang supervisor dan 82 orang non supervisor (karyawan bulanan dan karyawan harian). Jenis kelaminnya terdiri dari 49 orang karyawan pria, dan 52 orang karyawan wanita Perbedaan tingkat kepuasan keija karyawan menggunakan analisis statistik model 'U-Test (Mann Whitney - Test ) pada tingkat kesalahan ( a )= 5%, balk untuk supervisor dengan non supervisor maupun pria dengan wanita. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan, bahwa di PT. Sritex tidak terdapat perbedaan tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan, antara supervisor dengannon supervisor. Jadi dikaitkan dengan kelima falctor yang mempengatuhi ternyata semuanya tidak ada pengaruh secara signifikan. Untuk tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan, antara pria dengan wanita, juga tidak terdapat perbedaan, dikaitkan dengan empat falctor. Namun demikian masih terdapat faktor yang berpengaruh secara signifikan yaitu kolega kerja, sehingga terdapat perbedaan tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan. Hubungan antara tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan dengan lima faktor yang mempengaruhi menggunakan analisis statistik model Chi - Square, dan Coefisien Contingensi. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan, bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan, antara tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan dengan empat falctor. Satu faktor yang tidak signifikan adalah faktor pekerjaan itu sendiri.
