Abstract
Effort to expand snail bone use to achieve economical value could be done with processing the bone to produce phosphoric acid. The phosphoric acid production can be performed by two processes that are a wet process and an electricity furnace process (dry). In this case the phosphoric acid production is conducted by wet process where the snail bone is reacted with sulphuric acid. Independent variables used are reaction time and sulphuric acid concentration to achieve an optimum conversion or phosphoric acid yield. The optimum process parameters are reaction time of 102,4 minutes and sulphuric acid concentration of 30% with respect to phosphoric acid yield of 9,338% .
