Abstract
Research on determining the characteristics of frequency of cells Saccharomyces cereviseae in the process of dielectrophoresis using parallel wire electrodes. Saccharomyces cereviseae were used as a sample. Medium is used to place the sample and electrodes using aquades. Diameter electrode is 0.2 mm and 0.5 mm with an electrode length is 3.5 cm. The electric field in this study resulted from signal generator the voltage (5.2; 5.7; 6.2; 6.7, and 7.2) volts and frequencies (200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800, and 2000) Hz. Observation using a microscope with zoom 200x and observations were recorded on a computer using a camera mounted on a microscope. The results showed that the minimum voltage capable of moving the Saccharomyces cereviseae voltage 7.2 volts. frequency characteristics of Saccharomyces cereviseae is 1800Hz. Saccharomyces cereviseae speed radius is 0.04 mm 0.15 mm / s while the radius of 0.07 mm Saccharomyces cereviseae speed is 0.20 mm / s.
