Abstract
In this research, TiO2 have been grown on activated carbon granular (TiO2:AC) by dip coating method. TiO2:AC was used as photocathalyst material on wastewater treatment that soiled E. coli bacteria. TiO2:AC was made by solve 1 g of TiO2 powders in 100 ml DI-water, and then stirred by magnetic stirrer for 30 minutes until produced white solution. The solution then was mixed with 10 g of activated carbon granular that have been cleaned. This mixture was precipitated for 30 minutes, and then mixture dried in furnace at temperature of 100°C for 30 minutes. TiO2:AC microstucture was analized by XRD and SEM. Wastewater treatment that soiled E. coli bacteria was done after various time to wastewater treatment. Contents of E. coli was tested by TPC method. Crystal structure of TiO2 that have been coated on activated carbon was anatase. TiO2:AC photocatalyst was used in wastewater treatment and successed to reduce E. coli bacteria until 100% after treatment for 3 hours.
