Abstract

Forecasting is a process approximating data in the future based on data from the past. Forecasting method is optimum when it is resulting minimum error. Forecasting can be one of consideration the possibility that can happen in the future in order to minimize the risk. This final project discussed about gold spot’s price forecasting analysis using high order fuzzy time series chen that applied on the opening, closing, highest and lowest price monthly data with applied order is from one to six. Based on the case discussed it can conclude that with uptrend data on gold spot, it is resulting lower error along with higher order. But in certain case, the error resulted by higher order can be bigger than its lower order. Keywords: Forecasting, gold spot, fuzzy time series chen, high-order fuzzy time series chen, the accuracy.
