Abstract
Transportation problems are cases of transferring raw materials coming from several sources to a different destination in such a way that the transportation costs incurred are minimal and can meet in terms of supplies and demand required. Methods of solving transportation problems are increasingly diverse. With the development of this method, the smaller the error generated by each method so that the company can apply which methods can be used to get optimal results. The Total Opportunity Cost Matrix-Supreme Cell (TOCM-SC) method found by Bilqis Amaliah et al. is a method that can guarantee in getting an initial feasible solution of transportation problem in minimization cases so that companies get a feasible solution that can reduce the cost of distributing goods. The TOCM-SC method is a combination of supreme cell method with TOCM method. The solution obtained by the TOCM-SC method is a feasible solution in case of balanced or unbalanced transportation problems. In applying the TOCM-SC method into numerical simulations for the case of minimizing the total cost of transportation problems obtained a feasible solution that is close to optimal so that the iterations performed on the optimization test are less. Keyword: Transportation Problems, Total Opportunity Cost Matrix Method, Total Opportunity Cost Matrix-Supreme Cell Method, and Initial Basic Feasible Solution.
