Abstract
This research is a quantitative research with a positivistic paradigm that focuses on 3 (three) variables, namely the intensity of parent-child communication as the X1 variable, the parent-child communication pattern as the X2 variable, and the way of resolving conflicts in the family as the Y variable. Previous studies have shown that there is a relationship and influence between the intensity of communication and communication patterns between parents and children on how to resolve conflicts in the family. The researcher in this study aims to examine whether there is an influence between the intensity of communication and the communication patterns of parents and children on how to resolve family conflicts. The main theory used in this study is the theory of family schemes proposed by Fitzpatrick. In this theory, the family schema is described as having 2 determining elements, namely communication and conformity. In collecting primary data in this study, the researcher used a questionnaire on a linkert scale of 4, namely Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree and Strongly Disagree. The results of this study were tested using SPSS 25.0. From these research, it was found that the relationship between the intensity of parent-child communication by means of resolving conflicts in the family has a strong significance of 0.603, the communication pattern of parents and children on the way of resolving family conflicts has a moderate significance level of 0.585 and the X1 variable on X2 has a significant effect. moderate at 0.565. In the linear regression test, there are results: The regression value of the X1 variable (communication intensity of parents and children) has a positive effect on the Y variable (How to resolve family conflicts) as much as 0.179 with a regression value of Y = 18.619 - 0.179 x. The regression value of the X2 variable (parent and child communication patterns) has a positive effect on the Y variable (How to resolve family conflicts) as much as 0.334 with a regression value of Y = 18.619 - 0.334 x. There is an influence on the X variable on the Y variable, it is based on a significance value smaller than 0.05 so it can be said that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be said that there is an influence of the intensity of communication and communication patterns of parents and children on how to resolve family conflicts.
