STRATEGI HUMOR DI KANAL YOUTUBE MAJELIS LUCU INDONESIA DITINJAU DARI TEORI TEKNIK HUMOR DAN PELANGGARAN PRINSIP KERJA SAMA

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the strategy of humor creation in Majelis Lucu Indonesia (MLI) on the content of Debat Kusir and Pingin Siaran. The theoretical basis in this research is the theory of humor technique from Asa Berger and the theory of Cooperation Principles from Grice. Asa Berger’s humor theory consists of humor technique of allusion, bombast, insults, ridicule, facetiousness, infantilism, sarcasm, satire, irony, misunderstanding, definition, exaggeration, literalness, puns, and repartee. Meanwhile, in the field of pragmatics, funny effects can occur when speakers violate the cooperative principle proposed by Grice. The principle of cooperation consists of four maxims, namely maxim of quality, maxim of quantity, maxim of manner, and maxim of relevance. The results showed that: (1) the humor techniques involved in the creation of humor in MLI included: allusion, insults, ridicule, facetiousness, sarcasm, satire, irony, definition, exaggeration, literalness, puns, and repartee; (2) violation of conversational maxims that support humor techniques in the humor creation in MLI include: violation of maxim of quantity, violation of maxim of quality, violation of maxim of manner, and violation of maxim of relation.
