Abstract
This study aims to describe text analysis and sociocultural practices in the news column 'Ternyata Hoax' Jawapos.com with Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis theory approach. The focus of the research is on hoax news about vaccines circulating during the COVID 19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that the hoax news found used excessive words in conveying information. In addition, no valid sources or data have been published to support the text Manufacturers fully support that the vaccine is not safe to use.
