Abstract
Debu kertas yang timbul sebagai hasil samping proses produksi mempunyai dampak yang merugikan terutama pada fungsi paru pekerjanya. Akan tetapi penurunan fungsi paru ini juga dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor resiko lain seperti umur,jenis kelamin, status gizi, riwayat penyakit paru, riwayat pekerjaan ,kebiasaan merokok, rutinitas pemakaian masker, kebiasaan berolah raga dan lama kerja.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan kapasitas fungsi paru pada pekerja wanita di lokasi sortir bahan baku afval dan lokasi pengepakan pada industri Paper Mills.Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Cross Sectional untuk mengetahui adanya gangguan fungsi paru. Sampel diambil dari masing-masing kelompok lokasi kerja sebanyak 20 orang. Kadar debu tiap lokasi diperiksa, kemudia dilakukan wawancara dan pemeriksaan spirometri untuk membandingkan gangguan fungsi paru di kedua lokasi pengukuran. Kadar debu tinggi (diatas NAB) ditemukan pada lokasi sortir bahan baku afval yaitu sebesar 10,19 mg/m<sup>3</sup> sedangkan kadar debu rendah (di bawah NAB)pada lokasi pengepakan yang hanya 2,58 mg/m<sup>3</sup>. Pada uji statistik ditemukan adanya perbedaan kapasitas fungsi paru (FEV<sub>1</sub>, FVC, FEV<sub>1</sub>/FVC) yang bermakna antara pekerja wanita di lokasi dengan kadar debu yang tinggi dan rendah dengan nilai p masing- masing 0,001. Kata Kunci: FEV1,FVC,FEV1/FVC,Kadar debu FEV1,FVC,FEV1/FVC,Dusts The Difference of Lung Capacity Between Women Workers In Afval Sorting Area And In Packing Area of Paper Mills Industry Effect of paper dusts on respiratory function in women workers of a paper mills industry was investigated in cross sectional study.The sorting materials process area produced the highest amount of dust with total dust concentration was 10,19 mg/m<sup>3</sup> while in packing area was only 2,58 mg/m<sup>3</sup>. According to SE-01/MEN/1997, total dust concentration in sorting area exceeds the treshold level value (10 mg/m<sup>3</sup>)set by Indonesian Government. 40 subjects from both area were studied. Interview was set to get information on individual characteristic such as age, level of education ,long of work, illness and occupational history, the habit of doing exercise and using m,ask as protection while working. The Forced Expiratory Volume in One Second (FEV<sub>1</sub>,Forced Vital Capacity (FVC)and Forced Expiratory Ratio (FEV<sub>1</sub>/FVC)were measured using Auto Spirometer AS-300. The difference of Functional Lung capacity in women workers was significantly found in this investigation with each p value are 0,001 Keyword: Dusts
